PDF to PNG

Turn PDF pages into lossless PNG images: fine text and lines stay crisp, and the background can be transparent. The PDF never leaves your device.

Processed in this browser: your file is never uploaded to any server. Turn on airplane mode once the page has loaded and it keeps working. Check it yourself

How to use it

  1. Choose the PDF.
  2. Keep PNG, then set the background and the resolution. Only need some pages? Tap them to mark them.
  3. Tap “Convert to PNG”. One page downloads as an image; several come in a .zip.

When PNG is the right choice

  • Text, tables, drawings and charts: PNG keeps every pixel, without the JPG smudges around letters.
  • Transparent background: a logo, a scanned signature or a floor plan comes out without the white of the paper, ready to place on any background.
  • Images you’ll edit later: PNG can be saved again and again without losing quality.

Good to know

  • Size guide: at 150 dpi, a Letter page becomes a PNG of 1275 × 1650 pixels, and at 300 dpi it doubles to 2550 × 3300. PNG files are bigger than JPG: for photos, JPG is the better pick.
  • If the PDF is a scan, the paper is already part of the picture: a transparent background won’t remove it.
  • A PDF that won’t open without its password needs Unlock PDF first.

Questions

Does PNG lose quality?

No. PNG stores the page exactly as it was drawn, with no lossy compression. Sharpness depends on the dpi you choose.

Can I export a single page as PNG?

Yes. Switch to “The ones I select”, tap that one page, and you get one PNG file instead of a .zip.
